Tour Companies

A tour company typically combines tour and travel components to create a holiday. They prepare itinerary. The most common example of a tour operator's product would be a flight on a charter airline plus a transfer from the airport to a hotel and the services of a local representative, all for one price. Niche tour operators may specialise in destinations, e.g. Gallipoli, activities and experiences, e.g. skiing, or a combination thereof.

2. Crowded House Gallipoli

" Crowded House Tours is based in the town of Eceabat, right on the edge of the Gallipoli battlefields. Both of Crowded House's owners and our guides have extensive experience and a passion for the battlefields and the history of the region. With our local knowledge we can take you to all parts of the peninsula and help you share that history.

We offer a daily Gallipoli Tour as well a daily Troy Tour every day of the year. We are on the peninsula at the height of summer or the depths of winter and our tours go on regardless.

For those wishing to take our one day tour, our private tour bus departs from Istanbul everyday early in the morning and returns to Istanbul in the evening following the Gallipoli and Troy tours. We pick up our guests directly from their hotels and drop them off at their hotel door at night.

Our daily Gallipoli Tour focuses on the ANZAC sector of the battlefields, stopping at 11 points of interest including ANZAC Cove, Beach Cemetery, Lone Pine, The Nek, and Chunuk Bair. All of our battlefield tours are accompanied by experienced guides.

Of course, you may chose to stay overnight or longer at either Hotel Crowded House, other hotels on the peninsula or across the Dardanelles Strait in Canakkale. We can arrange your accommodation in any hotel in the region, right through to five star options. If you do stay overnight, you will have the opportunity to take in both our Gallipoli Tour and Troy Tour during your two day, one night visit.

An increasing number of our visitors are not just interested in visiting the ANZAC battlefield but also the Helles sector at the southern end of the Gallipoli Peninsula, where the British and French forces fought. Crowded House Tours is the only company conducting regular tours of the Helles battlefield. Our Helles takes you to the areas where the British and French soldiers landed and served. Joining our Helles Tour gives you the opportunity to get an understanding of the whole campaign of 1915. You can combine our Helles Tour with our Gallipoli Tour with our two days / one night Gallipoli and Helles Tour. Alternatively, you can visit the ANZAC sector, the Helles sector and Troy all in one tour; our two day / one night Gallipoli in Depth package.

While there is still much to see on the battlefields, there is also history beneath the waves, with many relics from 1915 below the water of the crystal clear Aegean Sea. During the summer, we run our daily ANZAC Snorkeling Tour, swimming over the wreck of the supply ship Milo, which lies just to the north of ANZAC Cove. Our snorkeling tour is a great way to learn more about the campaign, swim off the same beaches the Australians and New Zealander landed on and see the land as they saw it as they came ashore. You can combine a snorkeling tour with our two days / one night Gallipoli & Snorkel Tour.

We have a tourist bus departing for the ancient city of Ephesus, with a stop to visit the ancient city of Pergamum on the way. That is a great option for travelers who want to continue to Ephesus after Gallipoli. We can pick you up from your hotel in Istanbul and we can drop off you to your hotel around Ephesus (Selcuk / Kusadasi). This package is our two days / one night Gallipoli, Troy & Pergamum Tour.

There are many more sites of interest on the Gallipoli Peninsula than those covered in our regular tours. We organise an extensive range of private tours, allowing our guests to visit the many out of the way places of interest on the peninsula in the company of one of our experience guides. You can join private Suvla Tour or shape your own itinerary according to your special interests. We can help you to develop your personal itinerary for you and for those who have family members who fell in the campaign, we can help you locate the cemeteries where your relatives are commemorated and arrange to include a visit to the site as part of a specialised private tour."

3. Tj's Tours

" Tj’s Travel is a full-fledged travel agent & tour operator run by Turkish / Australian couple (TJ & Bernina) who are experienced destination planners. Both management & guides have a long running reputation for being the Gallipoli tour specialists, having run daily Gallipoli tours to the ANZAC site for over 18 years.

TJ (Ilhami Gezici) was born to guide the battlefields & Turkey. His name says it all. The direct translation would be: Ilhami = inspirational / Gezici = wanderer or traveller. TJ is the Inspirational Traveller. A local boy who studied high school in Eceabat, Ilhamis' love of the battlefields grew from the enthusiasm of his history teacher who would take his students around the Gallipoli Peninsula & tell stories handed down from the local elders. Ilhami started out as an all 'round Turkey guide on long multi - city itineraries mostly for Americans who gave him the nickname TJ. As the travel agents & hoteliers got to know him by this nickname, it stuck & he has used it ever since. *'Marrying historical knowledge & general enthusiasm' TJ decided to settle in Eceabat to start TJ's Travel Agency running the most comprehensive day tours in the region.

*Verity Campbell (Lonely Planet author)

Bernina - "As a couple, I think we bring great harmony to our business. TJ is an excellent guide & has such a strong commitment to the Gallipoli peninsula that it shines through in his tours. As a trained Catholic school teacher, my organisational & interactive skills have helped me make an easy transition from teacher to tour operator & the religious training I have made it easier to melt our two worlds into one as both of us have kept our faith & merged our beliefs together to form a strong bond of what we believe makes for a more harmonious world. I was granted Turkish citizenship in 2005 & TJ was given his Australian citizenship in 2006, so together we have embraced both cultures & traditions, which I think makes for a great team in the tourism sector."

While staying true to our origins, in 2011 we have launched our new website with a wide range of new travel services for like-minded independent travellers. We wholeheartedly believe our best assets are enthusiastic, well-educated guides, drivers & office personnel who have first hand knowledge acquired through living - guiding tours in Turkey & they are eager to share our country's treasures as you are to experience them.
